New 400 Tonne Press Purchased

The desire for Regent to increase it's pressing capacity above 260 tonne has resulted in the purchase of a 400 tonne Yangli blanking press.

The choice of press was the result of an extensive worldwide search as presses of this capacity normally occupy a significantly larger footprint than the compact machine chosen.

Malcolm Greenway (Production Manager) said "From order to installation, which included its own reinforced concrete foundation, the project took 4 months and now means that Regent are fully equipped to manufacture those bigger jobs".

Regent win presswork orders that traditionally have been manufactured on a punch press

Two more customers have recently converted to Regent's way of thinking. Products that had previously been manufactured using punch presses and pressbrakes are now being made by Regent using blanking and forming.

After consultation with our sales and engineering team, both customers are now benefiting from Regent's philosophy that low cost efficient press tools enable a pressing to be manufactured at lower cost than by sheetmetal methods - even when low volumes are required.

Russell Tipping (Business Development Manager) said "When we looked at these products it came clear very quickly that the efficiency of pressing combined with our in-house low cost tooling manufacture, has enabled us to offer these customers significant savings. I'd be delighted to talk to anyone who currently buys sheetmetal products up to 1m x 1.5m to see what savings we could achieve for them!"

Regent Break into Oil Industry - Pressings to be used instead of casting

Regent's new 400 tonne blank press has been quickly put into the type of manufacture it was purchased for.

One year from customer concept, through to prototypes and subsequent approved design, Regent has now broken into the Oil industry, an area in which we'd not previously worked.

The additional tonnage capacity has allowed our design engineers to work closely with the customer's design team to produce a pressing that replaces their current machined casting.

Initial production batches of the pressing have now been successfully despatched giving our customer a world lead in price against it's competitors.

Richard Parker (Engineering Manager) said "We've had to work very closely with our customer's engineers throughout this project to achieve the engineering and cost-effective solution they were looking for. They've now got a world beating product to market and I'd be delighted to hear from anyone who currently buys castings and would like me to research whether a pressing could be used to give them a competitive advantage over their competition!"

Regent Launch New Website

Regent has launched it's new website using Ikonic Design.

Steve Iles (Director) said "We wanted a website that fully reflected the company's capabilities and encouraged potential new customers to talk to us. One of the most difficult things in developing our presswork business is to find other companies with new projects that we can develop with them. I believe that working with Ikonic Design we've achieved a website that sends out that message very clearly"

Danny Richardson at Ikonic Design said "We've taken the brief and produced a site that is not only is appealing and informative to the visitor, but encourages them to make contact with Regent throughout".
